This project is a twelve-acre new construction k-5 school project including a main classroom building, multi-purpose building, toilet building, basketball/sports courts, landscaping septic
system and leach fields. The Hoffman team started providing cost estimating, constructability
reviews, and value engineering at the 90% construction documents phase. The project bid
at a time with a particularly volatile bidding climate and with little interest from contractors
to bid during this climate. Hoffman Associates’ creative breakdown of project bid
packages enabled the project to bid successfully at a reduced scope while still meeting
the current requirements of the client. During the course of construction Hoffman
Associates provided project management, construction supervision services and
construction inspection services.
Project completed under $800,000 budget, ahead of schedule one month and
with no claims, enabling the Owner to add into the scope the completion of more
classrooms and offices.
Additional scope was completed in December 2005.
